1. Summary

Starberry is a Asymmetric Co-op Local Multi-player Top-Down Shoot-Em-Up PC game. The game is meant to be played with two players where one player controls a ship and the other controls a shield. An infinite amount of enemies keep coming at the players. While the ship tries to navigate and shoot the enemy, the shield will try and defend the ship and absorb bullets to eventually be able to use special powers.

2. Story

The galaxy is attacked by pirates. They captured all the peace keepers. Star and Berry, two pilot peace keepers still in training, are send out to save their colleagues. Will they save the galaxy from these viscous pirates?

3. Gameplay

StarBerry is a local co-op space shoot-em-upper. The goal of the game is to survive as long as possible. The score of the players is based on the amount of enemies killed. In this game you and your friend (or soon to be friend) take control over a spaceship and its shield. However, the spaceship is very fragile and will be destroyed in one hit. The shield on the other hand is invincible and hovers around the spaceship to protect it. It can absorb bullets to gather energy to upgrade the ship, shoot a laser, or bash all the surrounding enemies with a boomerang effect.

4. Background Information

Together with Heiny Reimes, Zeger Huisman, Kwok He Chu and Wouter Florijn I worked on this game during a global game jam.
